In the Campo di Pieve area, in an area of about 1000 square meters, a great noble domus built at the end of the 1st century AD and sumptuously decorated with mosaics figured in polychromes was brought to light. These mosaic floors, with their variety of subjects and great quality, show how Tifernum Mataurense was included in the circuit of specialized designs and craftsmen, as well as attesting to the presence in the city of a cultured client. Notable among the main mosaic floorings are: the triumph of Neptune, in which the sea god enters on a chariot drawn by seahorses, accompanied by his wife Amphitrite; the representation of Dionysus; the mosaic with the head of Medusa. Finally, in the triclinium, there is a rich composition of polychrome mosaic in circles featuring real and imaginary animals and, in the central zone, the scene of marine animals fighting among themselves, including an octopus, a king prawn and a moray eel. To one side there is a mosaic of black and white tiles depicting a hunting scene with a beater and two dogs on the heels of the prey, a wild goat and a wild boar.
